Scarves

Several hundred scarves, mittens and hats have been sent to the City of Allentown,
Pennsylvania for distribution to children through the Child Advocacy Center of Lehigh County and the
Allentown Bureau of Health. This is a wonderful program and should be a part of every community. They
are made in a blue color (any shade of blue)

• The blue color promotes awareness of the agencies that respond to child abuse.
• Involves the public in this response
• Warm and useful to children who otherwise would go without.

We have already started on scarves for the '08 winter season. Please pass the idea on to your city or town.
We will gladly support as many as possible. AND DON'T FORGET THE MITTENS AND HATS. THEY CAN ACTUALLY BE DONE
IN MATCHING SETS. When you need to switch projects, think of the children and the winter months in the future.
Here are some patterns. And don't forget the teenagers. They get just as cold. Don't forget, scarves can
be easily made on the Jiffy Looms by not connecting the circle.
